Re: Isopropyl alcohol 96%?
Finnish name is "isopropanoli" or "isopropyylialkoholi". Also it costs a lot so be prepared for that too.

Yeah just had a look, €6,30 for 100ml is pretty steep but then everything's pretty expensive over here so i'm used to it :P
Re: Isopropyl alcohol 96%?
Some of the anti-freeze stuff sold on gas stations are pretty much just isopropyl alcohol.

That's true, but still you want to get as pure stuff you want. Most of the anti-freezes have some other stuff in them too.Karri kirjoitti:Some of the anti-freeze stuff sold on gas stations are pretty much just isopropyl alcohol.

Re: Isopropyl alcohol 96%?
I've used Polaric Go anti-freeze. It doesn't contain anything else than isopropyl alcohol and I've just it for a while without any problems. It's a bit harder to find since not many gas stations sell this stuff. You should ask the company that makes this stuff where you can buy it in Helsinki area. It's also a lot cheaper than the stuff you can buy from drug stores. Here you can find their contact information http://www.s-taroil.fi/index.html
Re: Isopropyl alcohol 96%?
I've used Sinol for thinning down paints. It is basically pure ethanol with some minor additives so you shouldn't try to drink it... Works well for thinning, is available from most hardware stores and costs maybe 5e per litre. Works like a charm with airbrushes too.
Painting miniatures is like making love to a beautiful woman... It doesn't happen in real life.

Well umm. 96% alcohol from pharmacy is damn hard to get your hands into! And even if you would, the quantity is very small. The stuff I use for thinning up paints, clear washes etc.
I buy 70% finnish name: Neo Amisept. Works extremely well, and does not cost but a 10€ or so for 0,5 liters.
