AoS and 40k Kill Team

Viesti Kirjoittaja HeresyBrush »

Hi,

After ten years I have returned to the darkness...I mean, to the Warhammer world. Initially, I only wanted to play 40k in a small scale (kill team). But during my Holidays in my hometown my friends have convinced me to start a Seraphon army to play Age of Sigmar (rounded bases!!!! heresy!!!! :P).

So here I am, with my armies growing little by little and wondering whether there is anyone in Joensuu looking for playing AoS and / or Kill Team.

Regards!

Hi,

I am interested in Killteam games, but are the rules for kill team available for free from GW? Or do I need to look for "alternative sources"?

AoS is not my cup of tea. :)

Hello,

I am interested in playing Age of Sigmar, if you don't mind all of my figures being on square bases.
I also have a couple lizardmen/seraphon lying around if you are interested.

GW sells the digital version of the rules for only 8 EUR (give me two!!!). Therefore, "alternative sources" sounds nice :) I have the rules only in Spanish (nevertheless, note that I do not even know how to play 40k. My last 40k game was 10 years ago).

Cool! I already know the basics of AoS, so we could play whenever you want (Alas, I only can put together 1000 points). It doesn't matter the shape of the bases! About your lizards...I am looking for some Kroxigors and Salamanders, in case you have them in your pile of toys! :D

Regards.

I would definitely be interested in trying Kill Team. I still have a little group of 80's eldars and would be very pleased to find some way to use them - and give me some motivation to paint them as they happen to be quite lovely figures. Also, in this moment of my life somewhat quick skirmish game sounds a lot more doable project than a mass army game.

So yes, I would very much like to try Kill Team in near future. Just throw up some dates and I try to include them in my calendar. =)

Btw: approximately how many figures does one need in KT?
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.

Cool! As far as I know KT is played with only 400 points. Not many miniatures! :D

Incidentally, one of my friends (whom I started this hobby 20-ish years ago, and fell off quickly) linked me this just before the end of the year:
http://heralds-of-ruin.blogspot.fi/p/ki ... rules.html
Now he's head over heels doing miniatures again.

I've got no idea how does that Heralds of Ruin rule set do against that basic GW Kill Team, I've not touched 40k for a loooong time, but I do know that GW KT rules are condensed to about two pages. HoR rules are a bit more involved.
I've not done any research of the public consensus of HoR, but what my friend tells me that it's been more positive than what GW offers.
As an avid Mordheim player though, HoR ruleset shares a LOT of similarities with the aforementioned.

GW KT, as I recall is 200 points. HoR is 200/250p, and capped at about 25-35 minis depending on the team.

I am also interested in trying out Kill Team, would be nice to get something to do with all these orcs I have...
For me the ruleset is not that big of a deal, so I can play with what ever you decide you want to go with.

I'm moderately and warily interested in Kill Team too. At least if someone dreams up some kind of (narrative) campaign for it. I can participate by writing fluff.

The unofficial Kill Team looks pretty great, kind of like the unofficial Necromunda is. I'd be up for some KT myself, it's starting to look like the possibility of a campaign getting set up.

I agree, the unofficial rules look pretty cool (thanks for sharing, Rutabaga). And they are accessible for everyone! At first, I was contemplating to play some random games. But if we prepare a narrative campaign...it would be amazing! although in my case I couldn't help so much on the organization / writing due to my current lack of free time.
