Whispers on the wind tell us the following:
Space Wolves have two new main sets planned:
-Wolf Guard in Terminator armour.
-Plastic Long Fangs set.
Currently the Grey Hunters and Blood Claws aren't getting much of a makeover; however, there is the high probability of a BT/DA style upgrade box/sprue.
There will also be several new metal figures released.
Continued talk and chatter is gelling around a September release slot for the Sons of Russ.
Lots of interesting chatter this weekend. Lets get right to it folks:
The general info we have been gathering from various sources points to the following armies hitting the shelves this year for Warhammer 40000 and Fantasy:
Skaven (Q3)
Space Wolves (Q4)
The talk from the tubes is that the Skaven may get rolled out officially at Gamesday UK in September, with a slight possibility of some Wolves on display as well.
There is talk of Forgeworld moving forward with more support for Fantasy, and apparently a comment was dropped at Gamesday-Baltimore where they said they were interested in doing complete armies with.....
wait for it....
Chaos Dwarves at the top of their list!
The Sons of Russ are on the move. The little Space Wolves breadcrumbes dropped here and there in recent publications are coming to fruition.
Latest sources say look for the Australian release date the first week of October.
I have something to add to the rumor mill.
Apparently wolves will be getting the codex in October, witha minimum of 4 plastic boxsets - blood claws, longfangs, grey hunters and wolfguard. All new sculpts not repackaged.
Source is reliable but I would still take it with some salt
Rather than 4 whole boxes added to the Marine range, I find it much more likely that Wolves will be granted an upgrade pack along the lines of the Dark Angels or the Black Templars (though you can't actually make a complete Marine from that kit). From a single box of upgrades, you could make longfangs (pack + devs) scouts (pack + scouts) ect...
I have it on solid authority, however, that Wolves will be getting a Battleforce of their own, as they had a few years back, but with the new upgrades. Which would make current Marine battleforces 3 in number.
This was posted by Bjorn the fellhanded over at bolter and chainsword,
Brothers,
I bring new and exciting news for our weary ears.
I recieved a PM form Thylacine which said
"You started the thread so I guess you can drop the news.
The new Space Wolf Codex will be released in October in Australia.
Saw the release date tonight, release party has been planed for the Hall of the Great Wolf (Brisbane's Battle Bunker).
Nothing else, no preview copy (photocopy) as yet that will be available in late June or early July."
So yep. A keg of the strongest ale and a flank of meat as large as Haegrs personality for Thy there.
Sounds epic, and I wish we had a battle bunker in Stoke

The Space Wolf codex has an October release date.
Here is the current round up of rumors from this thread. 7/8
LC's are called Wolf Claws in the new codex, you can choose to either re-roll to hit or to wound.
Canis Wolfborn is the new SW SC; He's riding a very big wolf in a not so weird way as that sounds. Let just say those bloodcrushers look like grots!!! Also Canis is power armoured and has 2 wolf claws. The wolf has some cybernetic bits on it. Its size may have been exaggerated a little it's just a bit bigger than a Juggernaut.
IIRC taking Canis also allows you to take two cav choices, 1 can be SW mounted on wolves, the other is just wolves.
Njal Stormcaller returns to the Codex with a new model, holding a gnarled staff out before him.
There will be 2 main plastic kits, however 1 of them can be used to make pretty much every SW troop choice by combining the oooodles of spares on the sprues with normal vanilla marines kits (e.g. a box of devastators plus the extra from the sprues will make your Longfangs. IIRC there are around 30+ heads on the sprue!!! there may also be a special vehicle, but I'm not sure if it's a complete kit or if there will be an upgrade sprue to add to the existing kit.
There's also a funky new way of kitting out your characters, it is similar to the Vampiric Powers used by WFB VC, but IMO much more fitting for SW, and very fluffy, in fact it is IMO one of the best ideas GW have had in ages. I'm not going to say any more on this as it will spoil the surprise."
Space Wolves gain access to an Assault Cannon Land Raider variant.
The current options for jump packs is going to change. BTW Jump Pack marines are called "Skyriders" in SW Codex.
Fasten your seatbelts. Talk on the tubes is the Sons of Russ are returning this October.
WOLFRIDERS?!
BoLS has been hearing talk of at least one unit capable of riding wolves and this might be it:
-The new trade order form lists Canis Wolfborn ($41.25) in the marine section.
He's got a very big wolf in a not so weired way as that sounds.
-Wolfguard Leader/Wolfguard Bodyguard riding wolves!
EQUIPMENT
Always reliable Brimstone has been dropping hints:
-Lightning Claws pah, the Wolves of Fenris have no use for such items.
In relation to this recently released mini:
Others step in to say:
-They are called Wolf Claws in the new codex, you can choose to either re-roll to hit or to wound.
CHARACTERS
-Njal Stormcaller indeed is back, and with a new model, holding a gnarled staff out before him.
-Bjorn is back
MINIS
-2 new plastic kits:1 of them can be used to make pretty much every SW troop choice by combining the oooodles of spares on the sprues with normal vanilla marines kits (e.g. a box of devastators plus the extra from the sprues will make your Longfangs. IIRC there are around 30+ heads on the sprue!!! There may also be a special vehicle, but I'm not sure if it's a complete kit or if there will be an upgrade sprue to add to the existing kit.
-Metal Wolfguard Bodyguard terminators
~Standard Caveats apply, but much of this is now multiple-sourced. It looks like this October timeslot falls just past the September 27th date for Gamesday UK. We have heard chatter that a lot of this will be formally rolled out there.

Johan niitä erilaisia yksiköitä löytyy ennestäänkin ihan tarpeeksi, eikä noi erilaiset yksiköt ole ainoa tapa erottaa chaptereitä toisistaan. Johan sen on monet rasistitkin huomannut... "Väristä ne erottaa".Hamar kirjoitti:Onpahan tapa erottaa Wolffit sitten perusmarineista. Ei tartte kysellä että millä codexilla pelaatkaan. Erillaisuus on kivaa.
Marineita DE cold onejen päällä. XDHamar kirjoitti:Toisaalta, tuo kyllä mieleen heti että joku vääntäisi viimeinkin liskonratsastajia marineille, counts-as-mallia noista susista.
IMO toi ajatus vaan kuulostaa edelleen hassulta. Alkuun tosiaan tuli mieleen perus marsuja GW:n "dire wolffien" päällä, mutta ei mitkään järkyttävän-isot-geenimanipuloidut-cybergeettisesti-parannellut-super-susi-ratsutkaan kauhean tyylikkäältä kuulosta. :/ Njoo... Joku lordi juggerin päällä? Ihan jees.
LOL! Kiitos tästä! Piristi kummasti iltaa.Guardsniper kirjoitti: "...In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. On humongous wolves they shall ride into battle. They are the defenders of humanity. They are my space marines and they shall know no fear." Ehkei sittenkään?
