E.Kaya 35pt (Trinity)

Viesti Kirjoittaja Leotigre »

this is a quick E.Kaya list I put together in i.bodger,
I'm breaking this list down by unit name, point contribution and purpose.

Kaya the Moonhunter -3 (assassination)
Laris +0 (warlock bodyguard, kaya bomb assassination)
Feral Warpwolf +9 (Warbeast/Warjack, Solo control)
Argus +4
Pureblood Warpwolf +9 (Assassination)
Warpwolf Stalker +10 (Infantry+Warbeast/Warjack control)
Lord of the Feast +4 (Assassination+solo control)
Reeve Hunter +2 (infantry control)

Now for a basic break down on synergy and effectiveness.

E. Kaya is very much a kill or be killed kinda girl, and she benefits from definitely greatly from large living warbeast battlegroups. Kaya just so happens to synergize the best with the three best warbeast the circle has to offer. As she gives ALL warbeasts in her battlegroup Alpha, which allows her warbeasts to charge, run, slam, power attack or trample for FREE(no fury build up)

The feral offers versatility in terms of defense, speed, or power as he can self buff by choosing either +2 arm, +2 spd or +2 str every turn. (combine this with Kaya's upkeep spell Forced Evolution (+2str and def) and he's quite a sturdy beast)

Your pureblood can use Ghostly to become incorporeal, and charge through models to intervening models to get to nice big targets(Granted he has Line of Sight(LOS) also he's your best chance to take out stealthed targets with a 10in magical ranged weapon spray, and other warpwolves in his control area can choose his ghostly ability as their controlled warping effect.

Now, believed by many including myself to be THE best circle warbeast, the Stalker, is a tough, and highly destructive piece, given he has the ability to on Kaya's feat turn to cast lightning strike (target gains sprint) on self or have kaya cast it then charge, take out targets, move back close to kaya via feat ability, and then activate sprint to make a full advance into a second charge position for next turn.

The Argus, has only really two good things about it, it's animus, and it's spray, the animus gives friendly models 360 degree sight, and the spray reduces enemy models def to 7 on hits.

Lord of the Feast, I don't really know what to say about him besides he could be too good of a solo, but i'm not really complaining there. He has reach (2in' range) with his sword, he's terrifying, stealthed, has heart eater(for every living model he kills he can gains a token to spend buying or boosting attacks), can attack everything in LOS of him with his first sword attack which combined with the argus' animus can be quite a bit.
On top of this he has pathfinder, so there is no terrain that can hinder his movement anyway, and to top off Advance deployment so an extra 6 in' starting bonus on the field.

Lastly we have the Reeve Hunter (cut from battle college): The Reeve Hunter makes for a solid solo. He can, on a perfect day, kill six models in a turn by charging with his Cleft Sword, killing a model, shooting with his crossbow, killing another model, taking a snap fire shot, killing another model, move with swift hunter, use his battle blade, kill another model, quick work to shoot, kill another model, then snap fire to kill the sixth.

Now, yes you do have only 8 models in this group, most every other army you will face, will have more then you, but these 8 models are some of the strongest models Hordes has to offer. As it is not the size of your army that matters but how you use it. Well hope everyone enjoyed my list break and strategy breakdown, Now as Privateer Press says, go out there and play like you got a pair!

I've played against similar lists, but they've all had a Gorax instead of the Argus for the extra damage from Gorax's animus, and Shifting Stones instead of a Reeve Solo to help out with beast heals, fury management and to provide some distraction to the enemy...
Give a warjack coal and you warm him for a day. Give a warjack an axe, and you warm him for his whole life... with coal ripped from the cold dead boilers of his enemies.

Not a fan of Gorax myself, but if I would have an all-living battlegroup I would definitely consider it. Have you thought about going for the eKaya tier? You would have to add druids and skinwalkers but it gains obvious benefits, like 1 point cheaper beasts and advance deployment for the whole battle group which is a huge bonus!

it's only her heavy warbeasts that gain the Advance Deploy from the tier 1 sadly, but there are obvious benefits to staying in tier true. My trinity list though is a look at a simply offensive approach that while 1 dimensional has proven to be highly effective for me.

That said, I do like her tier, it has potential and great synergy for a tier list, which in my opinion MANY but not all tier lists lack.
