Warmachine measuring etiquette

Ilmeisesti jossain vaiheessa jossain pelissä oli herännyt kysymyksiä mitan käytöstä. Ohessa muutama nyrkkisääntö "eräältä" foorumilta":
1) Measuring less than your full CTRL area. Can/should you measure, say, 6" from your caster to comfirm the range of a 6" spell? Or do you measure 100% of CTRL every time?
1) In Prime: "Specifically, you can measure the distance from the model to any point in its control area at any time"
2) Measuring rng for guns/spells. Do you measure the distance between the attacker and target, not exceeding the range of the gun? Do you just extend the tape out to the max gun range, not caring if it goes past the target? If the former, it seems more time intensive and prone to errors as you extend the tape slowly.
2) Everything I've heard says only ever go model to model, if you reach over it is illegal, technically. Prime: "Measure from the point of origin to the target, up to the maximum range of the spell"
3) Charging to the extreme edge of melee range. Model A has reach and charges model B. Before moving state that you want them to end up at "max melee range", meaning 2" exactly. Move Model A, and then whip out a melee gauge, put it between A & B, and scoot A back to the very edge? Or, put that melee gauge down before even making the charge move so that you know when to stop Model A? Seems shady, but AFAIK okay.
3) Not sure about officialness here, but I see most people move into range or measure their max charge, then move back with the reach key. But I dunno what's "right".
4) Model movement & overmeasuring. I declare that Fenris will run. I stick the tape measure out 16" forward, and then proceed to move Fenris 6" up and end his movement, conveniently measuring 10" from his new position to his next turn target as a result. This seems straight up not allowed, but then you look at someone declaring a run, moving, and then mid-move (with the model still in the air) deciding that they need to slightly revise their intended end position ("Whoops, forgot he had counter charge"). Should all movement be done in small chunks? Even then there is room for shenanigans.
4 is flat out illegal.
You may not premeasure. If you measure the full 16, guess what: that's where you're going to have to move. You may only measure the distance a model is going to move, so once you break out a 16 inch measurement, that is where the model is going to move.
