Box will be 100€.
Rules will be available on the website.
Rules for playing old armies will also be available on the website, no ETA given thought.
Game doesn't care which shape of bases you use.
There was no info regarding the current range being repackaged with round bases. Not that it won't happen, just that there was no info.
No info about long term plans or what will follow after the box.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar Starter Set
The most awesome Starter Set Games Workshop has ever produced!
Recreate the first battle in the Age of Sigmar as the Stormcast Eternals battle the Khorne Goretide to open a Realmgate!
47 incredibly detailed plastic miniatures; 18 Stormcast Eternals and 29 Warriors of Khorne.
96 page Warhammer Age of Sigmar book and 4 page rules sheet.
12 dice, 2 range rulers and 2 Transfer Sheets.
Totally new beginning for Warhammer miniatures.
The new miniatures in the starter box are some of the best we have ever done, some will slot straight into existing collections, while the new Stormcast Eternals are going to inspire customers to start new armies.
So the Sigmarines are called "Stormcast Eternals". Interesting this meantions a 96 page Warhammer AoS book - but not classed as a rulebook.

Erinnäisiltä warseerin kirjoittajilta, luotettavuudesta en mene takuuseen.
We've now had multiple FLGS owners state outright they've been told by GW there is no balancing/points mechanic at all, none, nada, zilch, zippo. One of those guys is a solid bloke who spent nearly two hours on the phone to his GW rep explicitly and at length questioning them about this exact issue, and was assured, repeatedly, that there is no balancing/points mechanic at all, none, nada, zilch, zippo. They were told there is definitely, categorically, absolutely no big rulebook coming, no army books, no detachment-equivalents, just four pages of core rules and the Warscrolls for individual units, which may be chosen in any combination from any faction. No ambiguity, no equivocation, no "we can't talk about that yet"; definitive answers.
So at this point, in order to believe that there's something hiding just round the corner that will make everything alright, you have to believe that official reps of GW acting on behalf of the company are deliberately telling outright lies to their retailer customers. That's not just them risking losing out on a few sales to an irate retailer, that's opening themselves up to potential legal action if they make sales based on false information.
=========
I and other retailers are spending a lot of time on the phone with GW today.
First getting the basic info on the game, how it plays, etc. Then being told the incentives GW is giving us to carry the game, and take a big load of them. I ordered the 80 copies they wanted to me to get, so did a nearby store. That's 10,000.00 of product, 5500.00 our cost, non - returnable. A large commitment to the game.
Then we hear about no points values. We realize we don't know how to run tournaments, or leagues, or even tell two 12 year olds how to start a game.
"Just put out what models you want to play with"
And we've all argued with sales reps and people in management, and the message is all the same: No points, this is the rules, this is it, nothing else.
Maybe they are lying about something else on the way? I can't hold out hope for that. Not on 5500.00 and all the time and effort to commit to painting demo armies, training staff, and organizing events. At the expense of doing the same for other games. So many of us will drastically cut orders down to pre-paid pre orders and a copy for the shelf. If they do have more coming, well, i'll wait until i see it.
======
+The Stormcast Eternals are warriors of the warhammer world that Sigmar saved before the destruction of the mortal realm. They are then reincarnated as demigods keeping some of their previous personality. Every time they die, he resurrects them and they lose a bit of their individuality of their first life. This will explain how we will see heroes and villains that were important figures in the Warhammer World before hand. Apparently the guy riding the drake is one of the previous characters but his identify isn't revealed yet.

Kyseessä siis apsi, mielenkiintoista etenkin ton My Battle Toolin osalta.

GW had a guy camped out at the Forge World open day whos entire job was to answer questions and talk to people about Age of Sigmar. His entire job is to go to shows and talk to people about the new game. For the first time I think ever they're taking Age of Sigmar to Gencon, Comic Con, all the major wargames conventions in Europe etc. They're throwing a considerable amount of money at putting this in front of new audiences who have never played fantasy before. He was also brutally honest and didn't dodge any questions and answered everything he could. I'll start with the negative stuff first.
This is it. There categorically will not be a '9th' edition of fantasy. Age of Sigmar is the only thing fantasy related GW will do for the considerable future.
He acknowledges that the 'funny' rules are rather silly and don't make for a great intro to the system for new people. His response was that the armies in the box set don't have the silly rules. They're there as kind of a celebration and final send off of the old warhammer armies, and he said you might notice the new armies don't have the stupid noises or imaginary friends. This is deliberate, its designed that you'll only generally play the old stuff with your mates since it's a bit embarassing to play in a public place.
The new races will look different to the old ones. Ooruks will not look the same as the orcs we currently have. As such, when they get round to releasing Ooruks, the old models will cease production. He did say that you can still use your old models as ooruks, but you won't be able to buy normal orc boys again.
There will never be points values.
On to the slightly positive stuff then.
They are going to fully support all modes of play, and will be releasing rules to balance armies against each other. There will be narrative campaigns where your forces are picked for you for specific missions, and there will be a system for tournament players to balance lists that isn't based on model count. He did not know the specifics of this, but said it is definitely coming.
The rules will always be free. He said that they are very very aware that fantasy had a massive buy in for someone to get started, as such the game was designed with the ability to play it with one box of models. There will be army books, but every rule in them will be available, for free, online. The books will just have extra background info and scenarios.
GW really are trying harder than they ever have before to make this work. If you're at one of the shows go and talk to them. They want to talk to you about this, but especially they want your feedback on it. As he said, this is totally uncharted territory for them and they are totally open to rules revisions as they go."
