Hi!

I have started to collect a second 28mm German army to play Bolt Action. This time I wanted to do something related with the winter (I don´'t remember how is the summer anymore...), so I decided to use the miniatures from a recent kickstarter (Kharkov 1943, from Heer46).

At the moment I have painted only a couple of figures. But I hope to receive more in the following weeks :D

Crazy talent here, these just look superb ! Luckily in Bolt Action You don't need that many miniatures, so these could hit the table quite soon. You should bring some for 2016 Ropecon for painting competitions or just for display.

A bit over dressed for the weather? Don't get me wrong, the level of painting on the models is exelent, but the bases don't match the winter gear of the soldiers. A little snow onto the bases would fix that right up.

Incredible, as always. Good choices with the colours.

I wouldn't mind seeing some wip pics.

Sorry, I didn't reply this post :( I have been a bit discconected from Sotavasara!

Thanks for your comments!

Gintonic, thanks for the comment. Yeah I should put more snow on the bases. At the moment I have used bicarbonate, but I don't like so much because it turns yellow at some point :(. Any suggestion?

Actually, I'm not a pro-painter as this is not my work, It's just for fun! (although sometimes I earn some extra $, which is inmediatly inverted in this infinite hobby...).

Is Ropecon like Salute or Crisis? that kind of wargaming event?

More like Gencon, just a lot smaller.

These are very nice as usual. The camo patterns look particularly nice. Any tips on how they're made. Been dabbling with some camo as well lately and my results aren't exactly on this standard...

If you want to invest in actual basing snow they're pretty good nowadays. For me at the moment the GW snow is the basically the only one of their side products I still use. I haven't really found one to beat it.

And, even if you say you're not a pro, the quality level is quite nice. Keep them coming!

Personally i think that Woodland Scenic's snow flock is superior to GW's snow "flock". GW's version looks like mold.

Hi,

Interesting! Let see if I can attend Ropecon next year.

And thank you very much for the snow tips. There are also nice products for modelling (I mean, 1:56 scale models and so forth) from WIlder, Tamiya, etc. But I have no clue about them.
