Poimin ihmisten iloksi sekalaisia huhuja netistä, ensimmäinen ja toinen lainaus on napattu Portentista ja kolmas B&C:stä.
Hiya folks, heres some stuff straight from the mouth of Graham McNeill, 40k games designer at Conflict : Edinburgh today:-
Rapid fire weapons -
Stationary - Shoot once out to 24" OR Twice up to 12"
If moving - Twice up to 12" BUT may not assault (no one shot >24" option).
Pistols can fire twice, even on the move, and allow you to assault.
Plasma weapons overheating will be tied to the number of shots, as rumoured. i.e. fire once, overheats on a 1. fire twice, overheats on 1 or 2.
Troops with assault weapons can move, shoot, and still assault at full effect (+1 Attack)
Also, importantly, he was VERY specific that defensive weapons on tanks would only be those >= STR 5 (NOT 6). So dont be sticking to many multilaser onto your chimera's just yet...
Ordanance move and fire, as long as the tank moves <6" (pretty obvious really)
Marine Codex, wording used was something like "Its called _Codex_ Space Marines, so will include rules for chapters which stick reasonably closely to the original codex orginisation, but maybe with a few exceptions. He mentioned Raven guard as an example, broadly vanilla, but with some minor diffs. Graham also described BA, DA SW etc as being a bit "out there" compared to the codex chapters, and would get thier own books.
Also, kicking around the table where plenty of concept sketches for the new marines, and there are a lot of the rumoured "roman" bits on there, sculpted shileds, kinda winged helmets etc. Also SIX armed Techpriest terminators...
Confirmed Terminators will be ball jointed waists and heads, but arms will be similair to the current style...
Defo a GD UK release for 4th ed.
Regarding Imperial guard doctrines, and contrary to other rumours, there are NO PLANS for sentinal squadron, roughrider squadron, shotgun, or rhino doctrines. He did say that feedback on the "creature creations" chapter approved section in this months WD has been well recieved, and we will likely see similair things in coming months.
- Confirmation that TAR and TVR are pretty much the rule we'll see in the 40K Revised book. He expects the not being able to assualt out of a closed topped vehicle(except Land Raiers) will cause complaints at first among SM players, but adaption will happen.
- Hyperdetailed 40K. This is 40K with rules for runnong out of ammo, throwing grenades, etc. This was going to be in the rulebook as an appendix, but they ran out of space so they had to cut them. They should be in WD around the time of the 40K release. Sounds interesting...
- Redemptionists were droppoed from the Sisters list becuase they found them too good at what they did, cheap expendible troops with Eviscerators, hence they began to see SoB armies with not many Sisters. People who wnat them however can see the Zealots list(next WD?) Which represents an insane angry mob riled up by Ecclesiarchy preachers(he might have mentioned Crusaders hwere as well, but I can't remember. They will get positive Ld modifiers where toher troops get negative ones to represent their crazed(i.e under half strangth confers a +1 Ld modifier rather than a -1 Ld modifier)
- Adeptus Mechanicus WILL get an army list of their own. Andy C and Jes Goodwin are working concepts at the moment. There not sure whether it'll be a book to itself or a list in a book with many armies(like EoT or Armageddon). Graham also hinted that the thing on Mars may not be a C'Tan. I'm really looking forward to an AM list and I can't think of a bertter combo to be doing it than Andy C and Jes Goodwin, all praise to the Omnissiah!
- Graham is writing a new Ultramarines novel. There will be some crossover with Storm of Iron character making appearences. Night Lords novel may be in the offing...
- No new armies for 40K in the near future. Production schedule is pretty much set for the next two years of the 8 year plan, but things are fluid after that.
- New codices will be SM, Tyranids, and then either Eldar or Orks. The reason the SM codex is being redone is simply that while it was fine whan it was released, now production wise it looks tired compared to the new style codices like Tau, CSM, Witch Hunters, etc.
- The Background for the new 40K edition has Chaos on the ascendant at this point in time, Humanity is on the backfoot and Chaos is waxing 'at this point in time'.
At Conflict: Edinburgh today, Graham McNeil (Studio) had the concept drawings for the new Space Marines codex - lots of great concepts for Ultramarines and very much in line with the move towards a more gothic feel as in Daemon/Witch hunters.
There are concepts for Ultramarine veterans (all artificer armour & special equipment), new techmarines (instead of a servo arm this one has a servo harness - multiple heavy servo arms built into what looks like termi armour), new apothecaries (all needle fingers and tubes), and new assault marines (one with an assault shield - imagine a bolter with ammo feed built into the back of a shield!)
There are plans to make techmarines and apothecaries separate Elite choices - you can also attach various servitors etc. (a la IG Enginseers) to aid them in their work. Veterans will also have access to veteran skills as their Chaos counterparts do (definites so far are Infiltrate, Tank Hunters, Furious Charge).
Graham mentioned a new Command Sprue they are working on - its apparently approx. 80 add on bits for Marines including power armour lightning claws, right handed power fists, armour plates, scrolls, seals, all sorts of nice add ons, etc.
One more piece of good news - the 40K v4.0 rule book will have a glossary of common terms much like WFB has e.g. infiltrators, fearless, stubborn, etc. and it WILL have an index (hallelujah.....)
