Halkar kirjoitti:So I was at GT Holland. Phil Kelly gave a seminar and I even played him myself against his skaven with my own skaven. It was a great battle, and in the end it was a draw. Here are some things I got out of him and some things he said at the seminar.
Bretonnia:
-Again there will be four boxed sets, and those will be peasant archers, knights, MaA, and Pegasi knights.
- In the background they really wanted to seperate and the two different classes in Bretonnia. They wanted the peasant class look really ugly and poor, and they don't really care about the nobilty or the lady. The nobilty naturaly feels surperior the peasants and ofcourse has more repsect for the lady.
- I saw the trebuchet model which fires the remains of a church and has four peasant crew. I bet having this thing in your army isnt going to be positive for your lady's blessing.
- You will be able to characterise your heroes by means of certain virtues (?), though I'm not sure if that was the name, it could be that virtues are a seperate thing. Phil told us about a certain hero chararistic which meant that a certain hero always needed to fight alone, so he can't fight units, but he is unbreakable. Some other knightly hero may (must?) have another virtue than another hero and so you all have different super hero's in your army with very special personalities.
- Peasant archers are going to have palisades, which negate ANY kind of charging bonus. So no lance bonus, first strike or wathever. This is in my eyes VERY usefull. Imagine putting a hero in this unit and you really have some punch for something so cheap.
- Last but not least the warrior monks, who are basicly VERY big fans of Grail knights. Phil said that if a piece of armour were to fall of a Grail knight they would rever it and put it back very carefully. They basicly follow the Grail knights everywhere they go (a bit like the monk in Dragon heart)
They arn't great fighters, but they try to protect the grail knights stubbornly.
Storm of Chaos
He didn't say alot about this, except that it will be next year's summer campaign. It won't be a chaos only book, and it will have several army lists just like the EoT codex in 40k. The armies of chaos will actually be striking into the empire and the centre of the invasion will be the great siege of middemheim. I'm guessing that the Middenheim list in the new US white dwarf will be made official in Europe when in Storm of C comes. US and France probaly have to give the feedback, so the rest of the world will have a good and tested list in when SoC is here.
Chaos Dwarfs:
They will be probaly get a feature after the new army which is:
WARHAMMER ARMIES OGRE KINGDOMS
Was really a surpise for everyone I guess. These guys are from the south of the Darklands and have a bit of a Cathayan feel around them. The army obviously consists out of Ogres and a smaller race which is a crossing between snotlings and goblins called Gnoblars (this is how Phil described them, though i don't really don't now how to imagine them). The gnoblars live under the protection of the ogres and in return the gnoblars fight alongside the ogres
He showed us one model which was a Ogre king, who had wrapped a large canon around his arm. Phil told us that he was thinking about allowing the Ogre to use the canon in combat, so that the ogre could use it like a massive flail, but this might change ofcourse because the entire army is still in development by him and the team.
Kislev
The kossars look great. They have great weapons and bows. The Gryphon legion is a heavier version of the Winged lancer basicly, but they do have a special charging rule. The models themselves indeed looked heavier, and the horses had a different kind of armour. They still had feathers on their back though. You can either use the army as a whole new list or you can incorparate the new units into your Empire army. They will be released in october.
Wood elves:
About the release of the Wood elves:l all he said about is and I quote: "not in the forseeable future."
High elves:
I had a chat about them with phil during out battle. He seemed to agree that pheonix guard and white lions were problem units, but he thought archers were a good buy because they could benefit from curse of arrow attraction. I said they shouldn't be priced so high for that because you don't automicticly have the spell, but he wouldn't here any of my nagging, so I bothered him no more. He thought it was a very capable list and they were fine. The rest of the staff agreed with him, so I see little chance for the HE erreta. Sorry HE players I tried, i really did.
Dark elves.
Currently they are discussing if DE will get their new book sooner (next year) or later, but they will get one.
DE vs HE fluff fight
They don't have any plans for further evolution in HE vs DE fight in the fluff.

I take that most of you guys know enough about it already. I looked into the book. Regarding new information, all I can say the art looked AMAZING. I don't know who made it, but it was great! 2 pages even had just only art in it. The two pages showed a fight between two gors. Really it looked great. There is also a map in the books where most of the beastmen concentrations are in the warhammer world (looked really cool aswell).
That's about it maybe ill remember more later.
Poimittiin Portentista, ogre armeija kuullostaa kyllä hyvältä...
